West Blvd Ministry partnered with MPV Properties to distribute “35 Thanksgiving Meals” to our friends in Cambridge Park Apartments. This was an investment into creating lasting relationships with families throughout the West Blvd corridor. Love your neighbor.
West Blvd Ministry cheered on at UNCC Basketball at their game against Davidson this past Tuesday night. UNCC won a close contest for the “Hornets Nest Trophy.” We were blessed by the generous gift of the tickets from UNCC Athletics through our relationship with FCA. We had the opportunity to cheer on WBM Team member and volunteer Bo Blight, #11 on the team.

West Blvd Ministry held its Annual Coats & Cookout Event this past Saturday at Little Rock Apartments. We distributed over 350 coats to residents throughout the West Blvd. corridor. We’re grateful for YMCA Stratford Mobil Y Truck that was part of the event. CMPD Westover also stopped by. West Blvd Ministry and a few partnerships gathered to welcome the students at Tuckaseegee Elementary with high-fives and words of encouragement as they walked into their first day of school. A great sense of community and excitement was in the air. West Blvd Ministry values its partnership with Tuckaseegee Elementary and looks forward to a great school year. God bless!
West Blvd Ministry recently took ten young men to Carowinds for a day full of fun. They had a blast riding all the big roller coasters from the Intimidator to Top Gun. Everyone shot free throws at the basketball game with Jeremiah, Jaquiem, and Mr. Bart, and walked away with some great prizes. We battled a ferocious rainstorm as we were leaving which provided us another opportunity to thank God for keeping us safe.
West Blvd Ministry recently had another one of our famous Neighborhood Cookouts this past Saturday, August 10th at the Renaissance West Community. It was a beautiful day of fellowship, fun, and food. Many thanks to A Life Group from Forest Hills Church at SouthPark who served alongside us to make the day a huge success.

West Blvd Ministry would like to thank Bo Blight #11/UNCC Basketball for the VIP Tour @ UNCC Campus this past Saturday, July 27. We now have a reference point when talking about institutions of higher learning. The tour had us visiting Halton Arena, the mens’ basketball locker room, classrooms, and the student center. The icing on the cake was the honor of playing hoops in Halton Arena.

We had an amazing turnout last week during our Neighborhood Cookout at Little Rock Apartments. Over 300 people were on hand including residents and WBM team members, as well as friends from the YMCA Stratford/West Blvd, Care Ring, and the Carolina Metro Reds. Special thanks to our partners at Waypoint Church for helping make this day a reality. The fellowship and beautiful weather was a blessing. The DJ, Kona Ice, and e-Game Truck were appreciated by all. Above all else, we had the opportunity to pray over the Little Rock Apartments community.

The West Blvd Ministry family was blessed by Steel Fab for the use of their suite during the Knights’ game against Louisville this past Saturday. The good folks at Steel Fab not only let us use their suite, but stocked it up with food, refreshments, and dessert for everyone. We brought 14 children from the West Blvd. corridor. For some, it was their first trip to a big baseball game. Thankfully, even the rain and storms didn’t stop the game; The clouds gave way to sunshine soon after we arrived at the Knights’ Castle. Even though the Knights lost 6-4, WBM, the kids, and Steel Fab walked away winners.

The West Blvd Ministry Neighborhood Cookout Season officially began this last Saturday, April 13th. We partnered with the good people at Cambridge Park Aparments off West Blvd. Over 150 children and parents had fellowship with the WBM team, YMCA, CMPD Westover, and the Corners Society. Kona Ice, an eGame truck, and a DJ were on hand for entertainment and refreshments. We braved the inclement weather during our setup, but when the event started, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun shined bright. God did his part in so many ways.

It was a big weekend for West Blvd Ministry. First, we’d like to give special thanks to the NBA for building a playground and an upfit of multi-purpose room at Little Rock Apartments. They also donated their time to construct gift bags at Southview Recreational Center. The NBA All Star Weekend Dinner at Core Church was a great event for all who attended. WBM invited 50 children throughout our partnerships with The Bethlehem Center and RWCI Sports Program, as well as families we walk with. Basketball fans were happy to see the likes of Mike Conley, Bob Lanier, Klay Thompson, Mike Reckord, and Renee Montgomery on hand in the West Blvd corridor. Finally, our founder Bart Noonan was recognized as a Community Leader. It was a great weekend of fellowship in the corridor.

West Blvd Ministry sponsored a 10U basketball team in partnership with the Bethlehem Center through the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation League at Southview Recreation Center, in the heart of the West Blvd corridor. The season was a huge success as most of the players had never played organized team sports before. The player saw much improvement in not only skills, but in teamwork, attitudes, and learning through adversity. We’ll soon wrap up the season with a party at Sports Connection. Make sure to check out our gallery for pictures.

We had a great time last week celebrating our latest kickoff event with Little Rock Apartments. Our Children’s Bible Study and Bingo Night will now happen every month at LRA. These events help us foster relationships within the community while spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. In that spirit, it was a fantastic turnout of residents and WBM volunteers. We read and discussed Bible stories with an engaged and thoughtful group who also actively participated in a Q&A segment. Snacks were provided in between bible study and bingo. We even had several bingo winners who chose to give their prize away. Loving thy neighbor seemed to be the recurring theme of the evening.
Make sure to check out our gallery with a bunch of pics from the event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next month. God bless!
This is a special time of year. All of us here at West Blvd Ministry were humbled by the smiles, tears, and prayers that took place due to the generosity of many warm-hearted people. This Christmas season, our WBM team and sponsors provided Christmas for 600 children and parents in the West Blvd corridor and throughout Charlotte. I can’t say enough for all the wonderful people who sponsored families with gifts, Christmas trees, and stuffed stockings. WBM has worked with families and our partnerships to make Christmas 2018 a memorable one, all for the glory of God.
WBM also donated gifts to the following partners: University Memorial Baptist Church, HO Graham Presbyterian Church, Stratford YMCA, The Bethlehem Center, and Urban Charlotte FCA.
Please check out our gallery for many pictures from this holiday season. God bless. Merry Christmas to all.
Special thanks to the wonderful people at Redemption Church for providing such a generous donation of a 2013 Honda Odyssey Minivan to a family in need. Tim Walker worked with the good folks at Keffer Mazda to make this possible. West Blvd Ministry has walked with the family for over a year-and-a-half now. Mom worked hard to obtain her driver’s license, making this a very special Christmas present. Above all else, this is an example that all things are possible through Christ.
Make sure to check out our gallery for more pictures. God bless. Merry Christmas.
Last weekend, the clouds broke and sun shined on a beautiful day of fellowship at Little Rock Apartments here in Charlotte. West Blvd Ministry is pleased to announce that our founder Bart Noonan has been recognized by Nextdoor.com, on the first day of National Good Neighbor Month, with their prestigious Good Neighbor Award. The award celebrates those who make positive impacts within their communities. Bart was surprised, to say the least, but especially honored to accept it.
From Nextdoor.com:
After receiving hundreds of nominations, we are thrilled to be recognizing Bart Noonan, founder of West Blvd Ministry in Charlotte. Bart is the epitome of a good neighbor and has an incredible story of perseverance, strength, and faith. Seven years ago, Bart turned his life around after battling a 20 year alcohol and drug addiction. Considering what he wanted his legacy to be, Bart stepped forward into a new life of faith and service to those in need. He founded West Blvd Ministry and began walking with members of his community going through unimaginable hardships.
As a part of Bart’s award, he was given eight VIP passes to the Darlington Xfinity Race to see Justin Allgaier tear up the racetrack. Bart chose to bring along some of his good friends from the West Blvd corridor for a memorable day of fellowship and racing. It was truly a special day for all involved.
Bart and his team at West Blvd Ministry would like to thank all the wonderful people at Nextdoor.com, NASCAR driver Justin Allgaier, and JR Motorsports for not only their kindness and generosity, but helping raise awareness for WBM’s mission. Make sure to check out our gallery for pictures from the event. God bless!
Yesterday was the Celebration of Life for DeMika Graves, 35, a single mother of eight children, who passed away unexpectedly a week ago. West Blvd Ministry has been walking with the Graves Family for a year now and are deeply saddened by the loss. DeMika’s passing only strengthens our commitment to the Graves Family and the support of her children moving forward. WBM is grateful to our supporters for their prayers and donations. It’s times like these where we need each other the most. God bless.
So love them like Jesus

You don’t need the answers
To all of life’s questions
Just know that He loves them

As many parents know, the first day of school for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is right around the corner on August 27th. West Blvd Ministry knows that buying all the necessities for the school year can be a stressful time for many households. This evening, WBM families got together to help kids get back to school with new shoes. We also had a dinner compliments of FUEL Pizza at Shops on the Green. It was a great night of fellowship as we continue to forge bonds with families throughout the West Blvd corridor. Please visit our gallery for pictures of the evening. God bless!

This past weekend, RWCI and West Blvd Ministry had an awesome neighborhood cookout, serving over 300 lunches for residents and the West Blvd community. Not only did we serve over 300 lunches, but we also had a DJ and a game truck from our friends at Esports Academy. Parents were happy to see that the folks at Esports Academy required the children to do team building exercises before they were allowed access to the game truck. It was a beautiful day of fellowship and fun, meeting new friends, and catching up with our old ones. West Blvd Ministry was happy to have another opportunity to display our “Love of Christ” to the communities in and around the West Blvd corridor.
West Blvd Ministry had an amazing night of baseball, fellowship, food, and fireworks for the Team USA vs Japan game this Tuesday at Knights Stadium. Both kids and adults alike had a great time! We are deeply grateful to Coldwell Banker Commercial/Meca and Charlotte Knights for making this special night possible. Be sure to check out the gallery for more pictures of the event. God bless!
West Blvd Ministry had a great time on Saturday participating in the Renaissance West Community Initiative Fair. The RWCI was established to revitalize the Boulevard Homes public housing into a vibrant village called The Renaissance. They use a holistic community redevelopment approach, focusing on multiple critical factors, including mixed-income housing, educational opportunities, youth and adult development programs, health and wellness services, and commercial investment. We are grateful to the RWCI for the opportunity to spread the West Blvd Ministry mission to the families throughout the corridor. For more information on the RCWI, please visit rwci.org.
West Blvd Ministry is happy to support the Bethlehem Center Summer Camp this summer with two interns. The Bethlehem Center’s camp offers arts & crafts, field trips, continued education in mathematics and reading, games, and sports, as well as overnight camps. Children in grades K-12 can participate at no cost to the parents. It’s a great service to the community and we’re pleased to help out. For more info, please visit:

Last Saturday, West Blvd Ministry partnered with the Dilworth Little League for our Home Run Derby and Coat Drive at Freedom Park. We had over 75 contestants in three different age groups (10 and under; 13 and under; 14+). We were delayed a bit from the rain — twice — but that didn’t stop us from collecting coats for our friends and neighbors in the West Blvd corridor. WBM extends its deepest gratitude for the wonderful patience and effort from our team of volunteers, participants, and parents.
West Blvd Ministry is grateful for the men of Succession for their efforts in the beautification of a yard for an elderly homeowner today in the West Blvd corridor. The crew worked hard cutting grass, cutting back bushes, and overall yard maintenance. When people come together with Jesus in their hearts, good things are a reality!
Over the last few weeks, West Blvd Ministry and its supporters have transformed a house into a home. There’s a lot that goes into that kind of transformation — yard work, painting, cleaning, etc — but the people that come together are truly what makes it special. We’ve been walking with the Allen family for over 7 months and couldn’t be happier for them. Their new home was furnished with donations from WBM supporters and our partnership with Beds for Kids. For more information on Beds for Kids, visit their website: bedsforkids.org.
The West Blvd Ministry team was hard at work this weekend helping a family transform the outside of their home. We’ve walked with this family for over 9 months now, offering our prayers and support. With move-in day fast approaching, we are still in need of many household items. Please contact us to offer your support. God bless.
West Blvd Ministry is blessed to partner with Dilworth Little League this season. WBM will put on the Home Run Derby during the closing ceremonies of the league in June, as well as coordinate an upcoming coat drive. We have been deeply grateful to be a part of DLL family through the years and look forward to partnering more in the future. Stay tuned for more details!
West Blvd Ministry would like to thank the students and families @ Charlotte Latin School. Their “Coat Drive”, organized by the Student Service Council, collected over 200 coats for our 2nd Annual Coats & Cookout Event that will be held in October for families within the West Blvd corridor. #HawksSoar

The 1st Annual “Spring Break Dayz” Event for children and families throughout the West Blvd corridor was a huge success. West Blvd Ministry partnered with HO Graham Presbyterian Church as we we’re blessed to have “2” days of fun and fellowship.
Most importantly, we would like to give glory and praise to our King Jesus Christ for the opportunity to love on our community. Also,we would like to take a moment to thank all of the volunteers from WBM and HOGPC. Talk about a TEAM effort !
Please visit the Spring Break Fun Dayz Gallery for pictures from this event!

Roby Family Food Drive – West Blvd Ministry
Grateful for the “Roby Family Food Drive” that will serve families within our community. Team Roby continues to work in partnership with West Blvd Ministry to make a positive impact throughout the West Blvd corridor. The Roby Food Drive stocked the shelves of the West Blvd Ministry Food Bank.
To date the Food Bank has served over 900 individuals, distributing over 14,500 food units. As we head into May the focus will be healthy options for our families, due in large part to our new partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
Please reach out if you’re interested in organizing a Company Food Drive. God bless!
